THE UNKNOWN AMONG US

Your neighbor hood watch coordinator is is in the 15th year of residency in the Fairways. For 11 of those years I have had the privilege and pleasure of working with the watch program and the Orange County Sheriffs Office. During this time I have seen numerous examples of criminal activity and  problematic community social issues.Many of the social problems involved unregistered,and unapproved residents.---''the mystery move ins'' are always with us.
 HOWEVER,---I have never seen as many unknowns, walking our streets and using our amenities as we have now!--I see as many as 5 to 7 cars, parked overnight, at a 2 bedroom house!----I see very young  people who claim to be residents--yet when asked, say that they are not registered.--further more they will not give addresses.
  CASE IN POINT---This AM I saw two young,''unkept'' males, walking---I did something that I am not supposed to do,--I profiled them, and stopped and talked to them. [a George Zimmerman no no]--They said yes they lived with their mother, but would not give me moms address---One said that he was 21 and had a job, and did not have to register anywhere!---RED FLAGS. I then pulled back and waited--They went to the ''snack bar''---I waited and quietly followed them to a specific address. ---All of this was sent to Priscilla and Lena. This was a civil community issue, not one that law enforcement can deal with.
 WHAT CAN WE DO??
 CALL THE OFFICE--CALL THE OFFICE --WRITE LETTERS--WRITE LETTERS!---If we do not help clean up our own back yard,---we will be just another DEERWOOD.
 REST ASSURED FAIRWAYS WATCH WILL DO ALL WE CAN TO ALLEVIATE THIS SAD SITUATION. WE WILL NEVER HESITATE TO EVEN CALL 911, WHEN APPROPRIATE!

THE SAD SAGA OF OUR AREAS HOMELESS

Some of you ,may have noticed the construction clearing on Rt 50.The area in this photo is close by beside Colonial Woods development.This particular area is being cleared for a large retention pond, not for resident construction.
 Take special note of the debris pile, in the center of the photo. This separate pile is the remains of the homeless camp, which was in the woods ,next to Fricke Dr.. 
 WE HAD LONG HEARD OF A CAMP ,NEARBY OUR COMMUNITY--WELL FOLKS HERE IS WHATS LEFT OF IT!
 In previous conversations with Captain Meade of OCSO,--He had confirmed that the camp existed. The Captain also said that he had a special deputy that monitored the camps in our area. This deputy has become personally acquainted with some of the homeless living there. The Captain has told me several times''there are some good honest people among the homeless,--they are not all criminals''.
  Its like the old saying---''EVERY BODY HAS GOT TO BE SOMEWHERE''--Where the folks went to from this camp, is any bodies guess!
  If you see anyone suspicious, walking into our community, call 911 and let the deputies check them out---They are qualified to do that,---we are not!

SICK--SICK--SICK !

THIS AM , FAIRWAYS WATCH RECEIVED SEVERAL PHONE CALLS FROM UPSET RESIDENTS. THESE CALLS WERE ABOUT A NOTICE ON THE MAILBOX BULLETIN BOARD.
 THE NOTICE WAS SUPPOSEDLY AN ANNOUNCEMENT saying that--''A MEXICAN BILLIONAIRE , HAS BOUGHT THE FAIRWAYS'' !
       The notice was cleverly designed to look like a newspaper clipping---upon examination--it became apparent that this was a DEMENTED attempt to be an April fools joke on all of the residents.The stupid trick, went so far as to say Governor Scott was involved, and the Mexican billionaire was going to turn Rt 50 into a MEXICAN RIVIARA.
  Folks, we do not need this kind of CRAP ! Some of our residents were extremely upset over this sick attempt of some ''LOON'' trying to be funny.
  This is another example of why we need more and a faster means of communication in the community.
