Last evening [August 14] Fairways Watch started receiving calls from alert residents. The calls related to a large number of sheriff units, coming down Pebble Beach. The deputies went to 2092 Pebble beach. This is a home owned by a person in Georgia, and has no occupants, most of the time. There has been no cars or activity at this house for several months . The deputies were dispatched for a ''code 3'' burglary in progress!.
Other streets were also sealed off that lead to the suspect house.
In all there were 14 units dispatched, including 2 K-9 deputies.
FOLKS --THIS IS THE KIND OF GREAT RESPONSE THAT WE GET FROM SECTOR 2 AND CAPTAIN MEADE,S DEPUTIES--KUDOS TO THOSE GUYS AND GALS!
Within minutes K-9 Deputy ''chief'' had ''arrested'' the suspect.
''It was not pretty''--- The young, black male suspect sustained severe dog bites to his right arm and was bleeding profusely!
EMS was called and gave medical aid to the suspect. Later the suspect was restrained on a gurney and transported.--- The fire engine stayed, after the ambulance left, and cleaned the blood from the driveway , with a hose !
This whole mess relates to one thing---LACK OF GATE SECURITY--WE HAVE SAID IT SO MANY TIME---''WE DO NOT HAVE A CLUE AS TO WHO IN THE HELL IS IN HERE OR IS COMING IN AND OUT.''
This is another example of good concerned residents, watching, and doing the right thing.--THANK YOU GOOD RESIDENTS--- This post is only a summary---within a few days, we should be able to get a copy of the event report from OCSO and if possible we will post the actual report for all to see.
Later this AM I will contact Captain Meade and ,on the behalf of Fairways residents, thank him for a job ,well done by his people.
UPDATE---- FRIDAY MORNING!
As promised,--Fairways Watch ,contacted the Sector 2 commander, Captain Bret Meade this AM. A few minutes after I sent the Captain a thank you text message from the Fairways residents. The Captain called me on my cell phone. He had just went through his early morning briefing notes. I will share the information as follows:
A 911 code 3 dispatch [burglary in progress] was made due to a Fairways resident call. --When a call like this comes in they ''HAUL A#S ''---THEY ARE COMING!--nuff said.
In all 14 units responded.---They found the front door wide open at 2092 PB.--There were no vehicles present --no lights. The Captain stated that his officers followed protocol, to the letter. The deputies attempted to make voice contact with the intruder--they also issued verbal warnings---NO RESPONSE-- In a situation, such as this ,the K-9 deputy enters first, followed by the armed officers. WHY DID THE UNREGISTERED GUEST NOT RESPOND?
What happened next is described above.
NOW--HERE IS THE KICKER---The officers, after the arrest, were able to make contact with the home owner in Georgia!---HE DID NOT WANT TO PRESS CHARGES,--BECAUSE HE KNEW THE INTRUDER!!
HERE WE GO AGAIN---ANOTHER'' UNDER THE RADAR''
UNREGISTERED RESIDENT.-See my previous ''under the radar'' post. THIS SAME CRAP GOES ON AND ON.
A good word about the ''arresting officer'' Chief. I have personally met ''Deputy chief'' and his handler, 2 years ago at the Sheriffs civilian academy. On graduation night we were invited to bring our wives and friends. to the last training session. The last night, featured the K-9 and mounted patrol division. I took my wife and fairways resident Bobbie Jancen [both animal nuts]
Chief is a beautiful Belgian Malinois breed. The handler brought Chief, out of his personal plush Tahoe SUV and he was introduced to the group --no muzzle--just a leash. We were invited to talk to him and pet him--he was the perfect gentle man. A VERY SMALL LITTLE GIRL, WENT UP AND PATTED HIM ON THE HEAD.---Last night Chief had his uniform on !
THANK YOU CAPTAIN, DEPUTIES AND YOU TOO CHIEF ---GOOD JOB!
