AN EXAMPLE OF HOW IT WORKS!
When Fairways Watch planned this new site, several things were taken into consideration.First of all we wanted a site that would serve the entire community in a positive way with posted information regarding security issues,and the capability to receive posts and tips. Secondly, we wanted to give the residents some useful tools to bring problems to the surface.The listed links,on the right are the intended tools.
So many times ,we are asked--HOW DO THE FELONS AND UNDESIRABLES GET INTO OUR COMMUNITY? The answer is always the same --they just move in, normally with relatives. A convicted felon of course, does not go to the office to register as a legal resident.--They just start living in our community, ''under the radar'' The usual way that the unregistered residents, are exposed is by concerned, observant neighbors.
Recently Fairways Watch ,had heard rumors about a felon , with a long prison record, living in the Fairways.We had not been able to get the complete name or address to confirm the prison records. After this site was put on line, a good resident used the ''tool box'' in this site to identify and confirm the residency of the rumored individual. This information was passed to Fairways Watch, in an anonymous manner. After confirmation by the State of Florida Department of Corrections records, the information was printed out and taken to Fairways management. The local management, quickly responded that they were working on the situation with the HTA legal department. Fairways Watch will follow this situation. Very simply folks that is the way it works. A big special thanks to all of the good observant residents out there.---YOU ARE THE REASON IT IS WORKING!

We appreciate all comments made to this blog.This AM we received a comment from a good resident concerning the long time residency of a person, other than the intended subject of this post.The subject of this post, moved into the Fairways, within the past year. he has quite a ''rap'' sheet, involving violent crimes.The subject is still on extended probation by the state parole board.We have not only made HTA aware, but we have also made our residentSheriff Deputy Owen aware of his presence.
we agree that legal action, for eviction can take time ,that is why we will follow this situation to conclusion.
I know this has nothing to do with this post either, but I wanted to state for the record that the community gates have been open since last Wednesday afternoon. It's hard enough to keep out the hoodlums and convicted felons without us giving them full access.
What about the hole in the fence in the storage lot. It was made by the hog hunters. Also the malfuntioning street lights down there also.
