MUGGING IN THE FAIRWAYS !

Criminal Investigation Unit

SPECIAL ALERT

The following event was reported by a resident and confirmed by the sheriff;s office. On Tuesday. evening about 8;45 pm, a resident was on a golf cart, traveling south on Warwick Hills Dr,between the 2 ponds. He was stopped by a ''scruffy'' appearing white male, est age of 20 yrs. the resident was pulled from the cart and threatened to force him to empty his pockets.Almost immediately 2 more young ''scruffey'' white males appeared out of the darkness and joined in the assault.
The resident was carrying no valuables. The assailants were upset that they could get nothing of value, so in frustration, one of the attackers, struck the resident in the chest with a fist !
Fortunately a cars lights appeared and the assailants disappeared in the darkness, speaking threats as they left.
The victim, continued to his residence and called 911. A complete police report was filed  with O.C.S.O..

Last evening I attended a special annual holiday meeting at sector 2 headquarters with Captain Meade. I was greeted at the door by the captain. He was well aware of this incident ,and had all the details of the crime. The captain has already set in place extra patrols for the Fairways. In addition to that he had me meet with his ''special project'' officer, Jason Murrill. And Detective Christine Shaw. I had a detailed discussion with the officers.
There is some thinking that this attack came from homeless people. Jason has been here once, looking for signs of the homeless and is coming back today [ Thur ]
THIS CRIME IS CALLED ''STRONG ARM TO PERSON

Are we safe here? Is management, meaning Priscilla and the higher not aware of any of these happenings? Of course they are, and they don't give a darn, they don't live here. How many times do we have to have issues like this happen here before someone is killed? Instead of putting money into the pool areas, like the Greenbrier and the Westchester (new fencing), put the money into a safe community for us to live in. Is there going to be a curfew for us like in the old days "be home when the street lights come on"? Come on HOMETOWN, wise up and wake up! GATE SECURITY OR A NEW MANAGER MAY HELP......

A couple of questions for some of the residents that have lived in the park, for many years.
Can anyone recall another incident, when a resident was mugged inside the park ?
Has there ever been a time when GATE SECURITY was needed more than now?
JUST WONDERING

We never had this much crime, and I understand crime has increased everywhere, but we need some help here. That mugging could've been tragic. And I understand we have some homeless living off the 14th fairways using our facilities at the Westchester - what is going to be done about this. I for one, looking in to a weapon, and a permit, but I know others may be doing the same but as we get older and may make some bad judgement calls and someone is going to get hurt unless we can get some better security. WHAT CAN WE DO???? HELP.......

I realize we need security and I'm probably one of very few that will agree to the cost increase in our monthly rent, however, is it too much to ask that hometown absorb 75% of these costs. They have as much to lose in this park as we do if the crimes continue against we the residents and the amenities. Why is it so hard to get HTA to agree to take care of "their property"?

Priscilla is a yesman and will not rock the boat for the people of this park. It's time to write to Chicago, tell them how you feel about her lack of participation to benefit the residents. It's time to get her out of here!

We need to somehow get rid of Priscilla, her IG, and get a full time resident manager who gives a damn and who will work for the residence. I have sent letter and emails to Chicago today and I urge everyone who cares about the Fairways, to do the same

A guard at the front gate will not stop this situation happening in Fairways as long as the homeless etc. can get access through the back of the park. Why isn't the office calling the police when they show their faces at the Westchester? Maybe because they permit public access to the golf course and restaurant. The safety and security of the park should be the management's number one priority.

I sent an email to Chicago today, Priscilla needs to be replaced by a manager that lives on the premises, and thats final. She is not doing anything to help the residents of our wonderful community.
I also brought forth my concern for the gates being constantly broken. (As they are now).
Also I indicated that all of our perimeter fencing needs to be installed, replaced or at the very least, repaired!

If enough of us complain about her, Chicago will have to do something. Please Write to Steve Braun today.

Maybe it's time to call in the media....channel 9 news....I don't think hometown would want bad publicity...

Now that our petty thefts and car burglars have advanced into muggers and attackers. I guess the next thing is murder. What will it take for HTA to spend some money on security in this place!

If some one is murdered in here, it will be blasted all over the news. Then everyone will sell there home and move out of here, at that point they won't even be able to give away a home in here.

Why is it that every holiday that comes around the front gates are broken?

I hope Bills effort is not, all for not, Priscilla has yet to comment in any of the crimes in our community,

We are not safe here. Our security issues need to be addressed, now.....! We have a lot of retired military & a lot of concealed carry gun owners living here. We are going to end up in the news if one of us is forced to use our guns. When is Priscilla & HTA going to secure our community.....?????
