YET, ANOTHER, BROAD DAYLIGHT BURGLARY IN THE FAIRWAYS!

   I         IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN!

This morning  at 9AM [Feb 27] ,a resident locked their house and left the community for about an hour and a half. Upon their return they found that their home had been burglarized and jewelry taken. The door had a standard type lock, which was ''jimmied''
This latest crime was committed in the 1920,s  address area of Inverary drive.
All of the recent burglaries have happened in broad daylight, in well traveled ,wide open areas.
The neighbors in this area are a close nit group.--yet no one seen anything suspicious. The sheriffs office was notified and a report made. Upon advice of the deputy, the resident notified the office. The office told the resident that there was nothing that they could do now! ---MAYBE THE OFFICE CAN NOT DO ANYTHING NOW, BUT IT MIGHT HAVE PREVENTED THIS AND OTHER CRIMES, IF WE HAD A REASONABLE FORM OF GATE SECURITY!

Call the news reporters!??? Seems that's the only thing that gets some attention

If their camera's were working, they might have seen if someone suspicious came in the gate. They really don't care, at all.

Maybe their already in the gate! They don't care who's "living " in here anymore. Not like it use to be. But we already know that.
Again if the management lived in here, I'm sure things would be different. We have all kinds staying in here. Then they have friends and so on...
And we still have are felon who was arrested for stealing from a resident....was in jail...and now living back in here. And the victim was Steve Brauns relative in that case...I'm just sick of it!!! No security, no regulations of residents....so I can't imagine that the employees are checked out. So who knows!!! We have to protect ourselves and keep a watchful eye out.

I have to agree with calling the news stations once again. The best think is to catch him, tie him up then call the news station. Sorry, I know it isn't right to take it upon ourselves but who is going to do it. Once a homeowner is killed then HTA may take notice.

Maybe we should all get togehter and protest the lack of security in the Fairways and call the news mediato see the protest. It must be a large amount of residents protesting.

I agree they might not have come through the front gate. When was the last time anyone has checked the perimeter? We may find the entry point there. If we know where maybe we can do something about it.

Bill, I'd like to know what happened to your very good plan for our gate problem? Did anyone ever acknowledge it or comment on it? By ANYONE, I mean HTA or Steve Braun?

In ref to PR cutie
Last summer a few of us security minded residents, formed an UN-INDORSED COMMITTEE to study the gate issue. We included in this committee, a Deputy Sheriff.
After 4 months and 8 presentations by security systems specialists, we prepared a 13 page report, complete with graphics. This report was sent to Mr Braun, by priority mail in September. We received an Email reply a few days later. Mr Braun thanked us for the report and said that the timing was good, due to budget preparation. He further asked for the vendor information that we used in our report. Within 2 days an estimated 50 additional pages were hand delivered to the office.
No further comments were received from HTA, until Priscilla announced at a board meeting, that they would have an employee be a ''GATE ATTENDANT'' This person would have a gate clicker and open the gate for those not being able to get in. Adding insult to injury, the residents would be charged $4 per month for a night shift only. ---NOTHING FURTHER FROM MR BRAUN!
There is not a stronger supporter of gate security in the park than I. However ,as to the HTA plan to hire a gate clicker and charge the residents--- I SAY ---HTA CAN TAKE THAT IDEA AND SHOVE IT WHERE THE SUN DOES NOT SHINE!!!

I think Bill should ask Mr. Braun for the information back as we, the homeowners want to look at it ourselves. We just don't have enough pull here in the park because we can't get enough people mad about what is going on. They go around in a fog all day and are afraid to step up to the plate. Batter is up, HTA is winning. is it going to take a murder here before something is done. Wake up people, there is only strength in numbers. Let me remind you, because of these day time home invasions, many people are thinking about leaving and now where will your home values be. There better be some good questions and answers at the next board and community meetings or we are all goners. THIS WAS A NICE PLACE TO LIVE, WHAT HAPPENED??? We are seniors and not dead yet, we need to fight for our rights. You mean to tell me with over 1400 residents living here we can't fight crime and HTA? Some of you are living right next do to criminals and do and say nothing. Why? I would rather be dead then to give up on life.

Anonymous 3:03, you are so right on everything you’ve said, let me just add a few more things.

Everyone needs to understand, Priscilla is not in charge, we should all realize this by now. Steve and Gina don’t have the guts to take the blame for all that goes on here, it’s easier to let the residents blame Priscilla and they remain “The Untouchables”. Hometown will never do anything that would challenge a person wanting to enter our community, be it friend or foe. That’s it in a nutshell, why do you think they want to replace the guard with a concierge? Think of the precedent this would take with their other parks, they would have give them security also.

Do you really think they care if you leave? So what if the value of your home goes down , that’s no sweat off of their backs, they can just raise the lot rent even higher to the new buyer.
Hometown is sticking to the Prospectus and working the verbiage with their attorneys to benefit them, they could care less if you or the next person in line pays the lot rent. Don’t think for one second that threatening them with mass home sales would have one iota of impact on their ability to profit from your mistake.

We’ve got to find a better way folks, Steve Braun doesn’t have the b…. to come and face the residents and tell them to their face “it’s my decision and if you don’t like it move.” We also need ALL age groups to come together and stop bickering over what band is going to play at the New Year’s Eve dance! We’re in this together so you might as well join the rest and stop letting Hometown win by seeing us fight internally.

So now we have relatives of Fairway's residents, residing at Deerwood coming into our community every day using our facilities unescorted by the resident as provided in the rules, using the exercise equipment whenever they feel like it. Probably has a clicker to open the gate also. You know who you are! Have a little decency and tell your relative to scram, we have our own scum to deal with!

Someone needs to have the b-lls to ask them to leave if they don't live here. Where are our pool monitors???? Forget about the rangers on the golf course they are useless. They don't even check the carts for stickers and people all day long are playing for free including visitors. And you wonder why the golf course doesn't make any money. Why should anyway pay for an expensive membership to the golf course if everyone gets to play free anyway????? They never check or ask any questions.

eye see said...

Wow...really! Outsiders using our little "gym "
We have got to get some kind of control over these situations!!! What did happen to pool monitors? Guess passes and such? Isn't that in the prospectus.??
And I firmly agree with Bill. I will not pay 4.00 so someone can push a button on a clicker. If they live here, they should have a clicker. If they have business here, they can use the visitors keypad for gods sake. This did USE to be a nice place to live. I know Priscilla can only do so much, but I'm sure someone in management lived here things might be different. Or what if the office got burglarized? Then would we have some kind of security? Probably. It wouldn't be so "oh well " then.
Or if there were a story on the news...

I felt the need to answer a question that has been asked several times here. What about the pool monitors? Myself, and two others had volunteered to carry a directory and be a pool monitor. Priscilla ordered the badges and then asked Hometown about it and they said "No" due to a liability. That was last summer. now its being asked again and Priscilla said they do not have the budget to add an employee for that duty. The person using the pool from deer wood, that been going for quite a while. No one wants to get in a Confrontation. Letters to Steve were suggested at the meeting about the break ins, maybe I'll throw something in that talks about the above issue as well.

If someone is coming here from deerwood and
WE don't enforce our rules, the next thing you know, more will follow. I don't know who it is but if I know someone doesn't belong in here that's using our pools, I think I would be trying to put a stop to it.

Anonymous said...

Again, why can't we monitor the pools ourselves? Because it is a liability???? I don't get it. It is here for us not outsiders, so why can't we monitor the pools? We will ask them to leave or prove that they live here or who they are visiting. There should not be a confrontation if they are here legally, I would not be offended if someone asked me. I always take my pool pass any way on my key chain. We need somebody monitoring the pools and the gym. Guess what, they are also using our laundry facility too?

eye see? said...

If your not comfortable asking that person for info, what about calling the office? Call, call and call...why not? Every time we see someone that doesn't belong here, pool, gym, laundry...call the office. Would they reply "there's nothing we can do ."?

To eye see, I think that is a great idea. Bombard the office with calls day and night. Talk it up on their facebook page which is suppose to be a sales tool. I think the only thing HTA would understand is to hurt their pocketbook, the bottom line. Curb the sales in here and that might have an impact. I know Deb reads this blog, send them a message.
