AND,WE ASK---WHY NOT?

Almost a year ago, Fairways Watch along with several dedicated, LEGAL residents, did an extensive study of different security gate systems. This study took approximately 4 months to complete.with input from 8 different security system vendors and law enforcement. [ details of study can be seen in the Oct 28 post titled ''Its time for a new beginning'']
Upon completion of our study, a 13 page report was sent to local, regional and corporate management in Chicago. Receipt of the report was acknowledged by Steve Braun --.Mr Braun went on to say that the timing was good, due to budget planning time. He further asked for supplemental vendor information, We hand delivered another estimated 50 pages of back up info to the local office.----CASE CLOSED.---- We have yet to receive a comment or rejection of any kind. The only response came through Priscilla at a board meeting, saying that  HTA did not plan to do anything about gate security!
In the security study, we also gathered detailed information on KEY CARD POOL GATE LOCKS. We had specifications and information on several card operated systems. The card gate lock probably got the ''DEEP SIX FILE", just like the rest of the gate study report.
It would seem that Hometown, looks at its residents, with disdain and in general,--as a ''BUNCH OF SILLY OLD FARTS''---To this we say---''The LEGAL residents know more about what goes on in the Fairways than the non resident managers do'' !-----HOW CAN THAT BE ?---SIMPLE---BECAUSE WE CARE AND WE LIVE IN HERE--- 24/7 ---  We invested our money and future in the Fairways.----CAN ANY OF THE KEY MANAGEMENT FOLKS SAY THE SAME?
SO---WE ASK WHY!
WHY CAN NOT KEY CARD POOL GATE LOCKS BE INSTALLED AT THE 3 POOLS?
If this was properly done, and EACH LEGAL HOUSEHOLD, given ONE key card, It would go a long way to getting rid of SOME of the pool problems.
AT THE PRESENT TIME, THERE IS A PETITION AT THE GREENBRIER, FOR LEGAL RESIDENTS TO SIGN FOR KEY CARD POOL GATE LOCKS!
PLEASE FOLKS , GO SIGN THE PETITION FOR THE LOCKS.

You're very right Bill. I hate to throw water on your campfire folks but in February of 2012, at a Homeowners Committee meeting, I proposed this very same key entry system to Priscilla, her answer, "that's a great idea, I'll look into the pricing and see if we can't get it in the Budget for 2013." The rest is history. One other concern regarding the card entry system, if it ever comes about, is the ID issue. If we simply have a card with a magnetic strip for entry, what would prevent any resident from giving it to their guests that could come and go as they please without the resident ever knowing they were here? The answer may lie in a picture ID card that also has the magnetic strip to gain entry into the pools. This way, any employee or Pool Monitor, yeah right, could simply ask to see their Access card and compare pictures. This of course would mean the pool rules would have to include a clause stating "resident must accompany guests when using the pools or exercise facilities." Right now I watch almost nightly the same beat up old Pontiac come through the gates after 5:00 PM, knowing all employees are gone for the night or weekend, drive directly to the Greenbrier pool and enjoy OUR pool! Another Deerwood resident in an old Cadillac does a similar thing every day except he is so brazen that he simply says he's an invited guest and uses whatever amenity we residents pay for through lot rent whenever he pleases. If the money is going to be spent on a card entry system, it needs to be done properly from the start, we don't need another system that is full of holes. Let's think this out carefully before we throw good money after bad.

Wow Paul, why don't we just go so far as to have microchips installed under our skin on our wrists??

Geez, lets not overthink this. HTA needs to assign a pool monitor and front gate security. They just need someone to patrol each of the pools every hour and someone at the front gate to prevent the "guests" from coming into our community in the first place.

RE PAUL HORVAT
To demonstrate the failure of the present ''everybody gotta have a pool pass system'' I make the following statement
Paul make reference to 2 cars. --A small green Pontiac, and a very old black Cadillac.[ looks like a funeral directors car]
It is a good bet that the occupants of these 2 vehicles ,both have Fairways pool passes that were given to them on a permanent basis by relatives and friends that live in here!
It is believed that these folks live in Deerwood and the Frank St area.
About a year ago ,an anonymous resident commented on a blog post that they had ''GIVEN DEERWOOD FAMILY MEMBERS,SEVERAL FAIRWAYS POOL PASSES''----Because they could not be approved to live in here!

You know,we talk about the red car on Spyglass with 3 kids, Kingsmill with a baby, felons, drug deals, etc. but nobody knows why these documented and repeat offenders are still here. Who is in charge of giving us updates,or any status information? If we do our part, who runs with the ball from there and who holds THEM accountable?

RE CONFUSED
THERE IS ONLY ONE GOVERNING AUTHORITY in our community. That is HOMETOWN AMERICA management. They own the property. We can complain and bitch until hell freezes over, but they are the ones that have the power to take necessary actions to correct the wrongs.
Fairways watch has sent many notes and pictures to the office. Sometimes we get replies, which simply just does not add up ---example---We have complained, numerous times about 2 young males living unregistered on Firestone. We got a reply a few days ago that ''their eviction was in the final stages''---BUT---a check of the public clerk of court records,--shows no such legal filing!---I guess it depends on the definition of the word ''eviction''
All residents should keep after the local management and our HOA, director of homeowners. Hopefully the ''squeaking wheel'' will gets some grease or better yet--fall off!
To ''confused'' I say all of the subjects that you have addressed, has been sent to the office, by probably more than one source

Sick and tired of the S--- that continue s to go on in this park. said...

I got it from a solid source that there are to teenagers living at 1803kingsmill. Also a very young baby. Have they gone to the front office to get the OK to be in the park.even if they only stay 30days the rules say you must check your guest in at the office and they also need to fill out paper work. Who do these children belong to?does anyone know?

Re 2:15. Yep your right Bill I saw the funeral directors car going down pebble toward the back of the park today about 2:30 or so. Probably making a delivery.

Re anon 12:39. Maybe you don't mind sharing our pools and club houses with outsiders, but I for one most certainly do this is a private community not open to every tom dick and Harry. We may as we'll put a sign up front (open to all)that way we can get some more felons and sex affender sto keep what we already have company.

Man and women had an infant at westchester yesterday, why they would bring a baby to the pool is beyond me

Barb lucas said...

This is for the person who has no guts to sign your name...why do you care that someone brought a baby to the pool! The baby wasn't in the sun and she was only there for about an hour . She wasn't IN the pool. Fresh air is good for babies ! Maybe you need to get a life and worry about more important things!

Anon 9:57- I am the grandmother of the infant that you seem to be upset about. Can you tell me what the problem is/was having her at the pool? Was she unruly? Was she is the pool? Was she there before 1:00pm? Was she crying/screaming? If you can answer yes to any of those questions, then we need to have a face to face chat, or are you just spewing gossip on this blog. Next time you see me, please approach me we need to have a conversation.

REF 5;08 PM
Fairways Watch has received numerous reports similar to the 5:08 comment We have sent related information from 6 different resident witnesses to Priscilla. If anymore folks have supporting information, please take it directly to the office. There is reportedly a photo ,out there--that is needed by HTA.

My husband and I were at the Westchester pool yesterday when the baby was there and it was very quiet, what is the problem. They live in the park and a Grandmother has every right to be there with their grandchild. The baby was not in the pool. It is the illegal ones that are there with unruly children I am apposed to And I don't mind signing my name.

Cards or not the residents will give out their passes to friends and family, exactly what I see daily....so it makes no difference. I moved into a 55 + for a reason! No Kids! almost a joke in here!
