AN AFFORDABLE WATCHMAN

Recently at an evening meeting at Sector 2 headquarters, we had an interesting conversation with Captain Brett Meade. Before the formal meeting started the Captain came over and sat down at our table. As always our conversation centered around the current crime trends and criminal activity in our surrounding neighbor hoods.
   The Captain was plainly frustrated about one type of crime---AUTO BURGLARIES! He went on to say that in our sector, in the past year, there were over 1000 car burglaries.---and guess what---- 90% of the cars were unlocked!
 The Captain said , what we already know first hand,---East Orange County is growing rapidly. Our Captain and his 130 + deputies are responsible for the security of over 400,000 people. Geographically,  Sector 2 covers over 400 square miles.
  WHAT CAN WE DO TO HELP?---LOCK THE DAMN CAR DOORS!
    Recently, our HOA treasurer, Nancy Powell, told me about a simple inexpensive , driveway,or car port, warning  device that they found at the new Harbor Freight store on East colonial.
  The next time that I went to Harbor Freight, the units were on sale AT A PRICE OF UNDER $12.00.--I picked one up and to say the least--I am impressed! The unit requires no wiring, runs on 4 simple batteries, and most importantly---IT WORKS!
   The homeowner simply mounts the ''spy'' sensor, somewhere in the carport area, then the alarm unit can be placed or moved anywhere in the home, or even placed on your night stand. The alarm console has 2 different volume settings and a red flashing light. One of the most amazing things is the 400 ft range of the system. It will ''nail'' an intruder,anywhere on your parking area. Its like having a private watchman, in your car port 24/7.
  AT OUR HOME OWNERS MEETING THURSDAY AUGUST 7, I WILL HAVE ONE OF THE UNITS FOR EVERYONE TO SEE AND HEAR!
