SPECIAL BURGLARY ALERT!

BURGLARY OF OCCUPIED RESIDENCE ON
SPYGLASS ST.

A perimeter was set up ,all the way down to the RV area.
The 4 legged deputies worked the Spyglass fence and Congress st to no avail.
It seems that the female resident had arrived back to her house, just as the perpetrator was about to load up her belongings.--BUT THE TIMING ALSO PUT THE RESIDENT IN DANGER!
It is believed that the burglar was young, small in stature and very athletic.----There was also a report of a green SUV ,with 3 young white males seen in this immediate area of Spyglass about the same time, seemingly, taking pictures of houses. ---any relationship to the burglary is not known.
Sadly ,during my meeting with Captain Garrison 2 weeks ago, I predicted the start up of the Fairways ''burglary season''.
Tomorrow morning, I will Email Captain Garrison a note,--thanking him for the great quick response of his officers.

Hey folks--- would it not be comforting to have a ''common sense'' security check at our front gate?----Management said that there never has been a guard at the gate----older residents say that is BULL CRAP!

I'd like to say Bill that I am a long time resident of fairways(yes there are still some of us around) any how yes we did have a actual live security guard. It was a good feeling to know that someone had you back. Also no commercial business was allowed in the park without stopping at the office first.Like the song says those where the days my friends.

I stopped at the front gate behind 2 other people the other day. The first car was a man who didn't have a clicker to open the gate, he was waiting for someone to open it for him. I didn't click it because I wanted to see who had one, he gets out of his vehicle and walks past the first car, they said something to him, then as he walks past my car I asked him if he lived here as he's walking back to the keypad podium. Then the car in front of me opens the gate and pulls out and around the first car, I follow them. I hear the man yelling "YOU could've saved us all a lot of trouble if you had just opened the gate in the first place"!

If this is a public golf course, why bother with the gate at all?!?! The public gets mad that they can't just get in here anytime they want. So I ask you HTA why even have a gate? Why not just take the gate down and let the public in here all the time? The easier you make it for the public the less interested they become.

I did the same as Anonymous 9:16PM did, but someone behind hit the clicker defeating the purpose. Would having some kind of ID, like a sticker on our autos to verify we do indeed live here.

Great idea, the stickers, at least we would know who lives here, and who doesn't. I would think this would be something the new board could look into. And most likely a reasonable cost.

There is a portion of the fence behind 14642 Spyglass that has been pushed down from the Congress St side of the fence. The area on Congress st is open municipal property to a drainage culvert, like a open path into the Fairways. The fence needs to be repaired.

Interesting info about the fence.... It is in the area that the burglary happened. Makes easy entry and exit... Hopefully, Hometown will repair this ASAP. Thanks for letting us know about this.

we at one time did have a white bumper sticker so the guard at the gate knew we were residents.

This golf cars theft brings back a lot of memories.a few years ago we had a rash of golf carts stolen, and that is exactly the area the thieves used to enter and exit. The exact area that was used a few weeks ago. I'm wondering if that fenced area was ever fixed. Given the caliber of management we have id be willing to say not. What do they care .they leave every night. Bet they have a great security system.
