VISITORS,--- THAT DON'T SEEM TO LEAVE

Most of us remember the theme song, from the 60's and 70's --''Those were the Days''. The popular TV situation comedy show, ''All in The Family' 'featured Archie and Edith Bunker. Along with the principals, were their permanent ''House-Guests''---- ''Meathead'' and Gloria. ---The antagonistic son-in-law seemed to never be able to get a job.----SO---they stayed on and on with their in-laws.

As most rule abiding residents know,----if visiting house guests stay over 30 days in the Fairways, --they are required to go to the office, with acceptable identification ,and pay the recently increased registration fee of $ 40.00.The most critical portion of this registration, is a criminal background check.

It seems however, that this valid requirement is not adhered to by some residents.----In the past several years there has been a number of ''visiting'' family relatives , forced out of our gated community!
Among the expelled relatives, were several convicted felons and hard time prison ex-convicts. These people had convictions ranging from sex offenses to drugs to grand theft, and even kidnapping---.One of the ''guests'', that was forced from our community,--- [ a residents nephew]--- is now serving another new prison term for burglary, ---he is due for release in April 2017.Thankfully, he was put out of the Fairways , before he went back to his old trade.
The above facts simply point out the validity of the background check requirement.
We would encourage all residents to notify the community management of any unregistered visitors, that overstay their 30 day limit. ---There may be a reason for them not submitting the required information. ---It is simple to do so ---you may drop a note in the office mail box, or notify Fairways Watch, by an anonymous comment on this blog.

Your point is well taken... only problem is, will the violators get the point?

I remember when I moved in here. I had to let the office know that my son would be here for one week and that there would be a rental car here at my house. This was in the last 10 years. We were told that there is to be "no trouble and or problems with him", and definitely no noise or parties... My Lord, he is a grown adult. Now a days, anybody can come in regardless of their age and stay as long as they want! The other day I saw two young girls on Pebble Beach (maybe 10 - 14 years old) riding on a moped...thank goodness they had their helmets on. Is this legal? Oh wait, here at the Fairways they can do what they want. Where do these Aunts/Uncles/Grandparents come from? Why do we have to have all the felons, etc. here? Just dump them off at the old trailer park I guess, where they would be safe, because we can't touch them..... Where are we safe? I think our fearless leader should live here amongst us as the others have...I thought rules were drawn up for a reason? Guess I am wrong again...

Point well taken Yankee Gal you are 100% correct and I agree with your post we are just a dumping ground for all that want to be here. We do need a Manager that lives on the property as it always was in the past.

This post brings forth a valid point and subject. I too have noticed , out of state license plates showing up near the holidays --they stay on and on , long after the holiday season!---Do they go and get the criminal check ? It makes one wonder.

Are you folks kidding? Really? The residents allow their family to stay past the allowed time and you want to blame the manager? Don't you think it is the fault of the residents that hide them and allow them to break all the rules? You folks just want to put the blame on someone else when it is our neighbors that are the rule breakers. Good Grief

RE 8;59
The problem has a double edge!--True the basic responsibility lies with the homeowner---BUT---once that management is notified of a legitimate violation, a large portion of rule enforcement . shifts to local management.
Management is not known to be dilligent in this area!

Well said Bill. As long as the lot rent is being paid management would let any old criminal live in the fairways.we have drug dealers, prositutes on call any time. This place is a regular sin city.who would of ever thought it would turn out this way.

So since the homeowner is the one to blame,we look elsewhere for the cure. Did you hear the lawyer at the meeting say that he has other lawyers that specialize in eviction and they tell him it is the hardest thing to do to get a person forced out of their residence. Come on people, let's do what we can to stop this and then the problem goes away.
