AN EARLY MORNING WAKE UP!

VERY EARLY THIS MORNING ,--RESIDENTS ON FORREST OAK AND TUCKAWAY CT --AWOKE TO AN AMADA OF SHERIFF UNITS!
Around 6AM approximately 12 OCSO units, EMS and the helicopter responded to a ''DOMESTIC MEDICAL''---for a suicide threat with a gun.
A resident was out in a backyard with a gun threatening harm to himself. As always it's the law enforcement job to protect ALL --not only the involved person. The whole area was promptly cordoned off and procedures put in practice to restrain the individual.
In some cases the aviation unit is brought in as a diversionary tactic,---to help the officers on the ground.
At one point a call was sent out for some special equipment ,in order to bring this operation to a safe conclusion.
In summary---after a 2 hour operation----the resident in question was secured along with his weapon. The EMS unit then moved into place.
FOLKS---I HAVE SAID IT SO MANY TIMES---''WE ARE BLESSED WITH THE BEST FIRST RESPONDERS ANYWHERE IN THIS GREAT COUNTRY''
THESE GUYS AND GALS DID A FANTASTIC JOB ----ONCE AGAIN!

Yes the police handled the situation very well. They advised all area residents to stay in their homes for safety reasons. They were able to disarm the person and the area was cleared by 9 am. Thank you to the Orlando police for the great job they do.

Hi All,
The right turn light from Colonial into Fairways PB Blvd has been moved and was placed on the light pole OVER THE TURN LANE into Fairways, meaning that the right turn signal light is a few car lengths back from where it was. No notice, no signs that I know of placed by FDOT, just a really bad placement. They apparently are moving the traffic lights to the new overhead poles now, and didn't have room for the turn light in the proper place across from the intersection. PLEASE WARN YOUR NEIGHBORS. I turned here just a couple minutes ago, around 335pm, and clearly, folks don't understand this yet...all 4 cars ahead of me missed it, got frustrated, and then turned anyway, AGAINST oncoming traffic...really, they would have had to wait for further signal sequences while everyone behind them was honking horns.

In my opinion, this is a horrible mistake by the Florida DOT as folks will get frustrated and / or do something else - especially given some of the very elderly drivers here - that might cause a safety issue/accident. I called the County about it and expressed my concerns by email to OCSO also...hopefully Bill H. can work something out better with his OCSO contacts. Please let others know to be extra cautious and stop farther back from the intersection so they can see the light until it gets moved into proper position again. Maybe you all can call the County / FDOT too?

I called them yesterday when I got home. Lady transferred my call to someone that was unavailable, so I left a message to her. Bad situation. I was able to get over and go down further on E. Colonial and make a U-turn.

Thanks Dave, We figured it out the hardway as well...thinking there was no left hand turn signal but it was really further back as you say. Nice of them to let us know, I hope nobody was hurt or worse from this idiotic move.

Yes, we finally saw the turning light, a driver was in front of us at the new white line, but he had no clue of the new light. Beeped my horn and he moved on. only to be making a U-turn. haha Thanks to everyone that helped us see the light! Be safe if storm comes our way!!!!!!

Bill,
Thank you and Sam and a third gentleman (whose name I do not know) for checking up on a young man who was wearing a back pack and some sort of breathing mask. He and his female companion came into the gym and it was quite unsettling. He turned out to be a very polite young man who was using the mask to help him with his MMA training and he actually lives here in the Fairways. We had already asked about the mask and learned that he was visiting here--but still felt some angst. We felt much better after you guys talked to him.

It is very comforting to have three strong gentlemen looking out for us.

Thanks fellas for all you do for all of us!
