WHERE IS THE GATE?

        YES---WHERE IS OUR DAMN GATE?

The above question is not only being asked by the good residents,---but probably by the interested prospective buyers!
During the week before last, the newly hired grass cutting firm ,carelessly damaged our outbound gate, with their trailer while leaving the park!---[have not been back since]
One might believe that a new contractor and their insurance company would act in a timely manner.
We would also think that it is an extra burden for the sales people to explain the existing condition of our entrance area.----A ''premier community'' with 7 new unsold $100 K homes and nearly $700 lot rents,---that would be a hard enough sell,---without the non working, busted gates!
During this past week, we have seen countless ''drive arounds'' all over the park--just ''gawkers'' and curiosity people.----Hopefully there were not any bad intentions among them.
Until a form of common sense monitoring of the entrance area,---there will be continued, damage, insecurity and vandalism at the gates!
About three years ago ,--- Fairways Watch did an extensive study of our gates. The work was done along with some residents, eleven security equipment vendors, and a deputy sheriff.
A brief outlay of our suggestion is outlined above.
The system would have been remotely monitored by a live attendant. Visitors would be recorded, greeted and identified by the system. Residents could quickly enter in the right lane with an installed bar code sticker on their window. The double gates were so designed as to prevent ''tailgating''
The monthly cost would be comparable or less than the ''Barney Fife'' attendants batted about by HTA.
We mailed a 13 page detailed description of our suggestion to HTA Chicago----''thanks but no thanks''
Remember the old 1960's TV shoe---''FATHER KNOWS BEST''---thats the HTA attitude!
CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG----Not one member of our top and local management, has ever slept ONE night in the Fairways community!

With our gates the way they currently are, we had two different solicitors in the park this past weekend. Sunday, there was a group of about 7 people walking up and down the straights putting flyers on our doors about a church service this coming Sunday. Saturday, some man in a grey pickup truck with a trailer going door to door asking us about our golf carts. I am assuming that the no soliciting sign is still at the gate. So, yes, where are our damn gates??????

the gates as they are now wont stop solicitors, they just follow others in. Bills study makes sense, that's probably why HTA wont do it

Have you ever seen a worse entry to a upscale park than the one we have??????? Gate busted, past office space full of over grown weeds and full of rocks and a fence on the west side that looks yuckey!!!!!!!! A hta logo pickup parked on the side of the road in the grass if that is to be grass that is being watered constantly. But we do have a expensive redone club house with a great many problems if buyers can close their eyes to get to it!!!!!!!!!!

I heard that the broken gate was hauled down and dumped in the maintenance shop. Are they going to fix it down there?
I wonder if the new grass cutter will repair the residents damage as fast as the gate.

You people forget we have a manager 9 to 5 Mon to Fri she does not care who drives in or who walks in when she is not around.

Bill, great work on the proposed gate but you should know the management here and in Leesburg are very spiteful people a few examples----why was the speed bump on spyglass put where it is,why was the speed bump on wing foot put where it is, why along five fairway does every home have a seawall but one, why was the cross over on five fairway ended far short of spyglass with the cement pavement which our maintenance super put a couple buckets of dirt at the end to smooth it out lasted thru almost two rains. Spiteful yes restaurant gone, cable which residents started gone extra bochee ball court put in but not needed bleachers put in against code and not needed but no money for score boards which residents provided. Library gone bingo gone just think of all these and more that residents like are gone thru spite. And there are many more. Bill your entry looks great is too good for our manager so it ain't going to happen but do not let up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a 20 year resident survivor of this place I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS PLACE LOOK AS BAD AS IT DOES COMING IN. what has happened to the weed cutters? AKA grass cutting contractor. He has not been back since he ripped off our gate and fence several weeks ago! Did he get fired or not paid?

Hey, they need to recover some of the Masters many mistakes so they probably will only mow once a month. Even though we paid for the Masters and pay for the mowing unless there is money left no bonus money for miss prisss.

The masters is really nice looking but sure could be more useful. A couple residents many months before completion warned the bingo setup was against fl laws and would not fly but it was installed anyway. Who would not have measured the pool table and sticks and had a room the right size, why did there need to be wall fixtures moved and holes repaired, why is the hand dryer in the ladies room hidden, where are all the "real" card tables, what no ceiling fans???????

To the 20 year resident how right you are--- they tore down a newly fixed office to replace it with a triple wide which did not meet code or building specs of some kind so they moved office to another area threw in grass seed for a temporary fix until who knows when !!!!! Maybe Priscilla or Gena can explain how much that boondoggle cost us renters. May be a good idea to check out specs before jumping in water over their head aka as the bleachers !!!!!!!

Please don't forget our beautiful "Fire Pit".... every time I have been at an event in the evening, no one knows how to turn it on... Someone said they are waiting for a shut off valve, then another said the valve that is on it is incorrect, and so on. Its a nice amenity but does it work? I know it worked the grand opening, but not since then.... Im sure we will all pay for this addition.

To all of the above: I am addressing all of these concerns as well as the gate repair to Priscilla on Monday and will recieve her answers at the Board meeting, which you may attend and ask questions, on April 4.

I have never lived any place in my entire life, that had such a deep dislike for the management of said property. I really wonder how Priscilla sleeps at night knowing that she is (robbing) personally responsible for cheating all the residents out of so many things; such as fix & repair promptly our front gate, street repair, sunken culverts, trim the trees regularly, keep the ponds clear & clean, landscape our park better, clean the pools better and more often, pressure wash the bricks at the pool decks, hire more maintenance crew to keep up with these things. And more importantly asking the residents what they would like prior to building major projects. Priscilla appears to be more concerned with her large bonus checks that she receives in return for screwing the residents out of a decent way of life. All of which we pay for!
I'm really sick to death of Priscilla. It's time for her to go. I know they say careful what you wish for but anyone has got to be better than her!

Hey, 5:26 you know the old saying "my way or the highway", her way she is a very spiteful person. Asking for help or input is a sign of weakness on her part and do not blame her for everything Gena Pugh is as bad or worse, as in orders from headquarters.

Bill, we have a $100,000 sales office do you really expect to have a front gate too??????

Howard Cottrell said...

The new home that is being used as a temporary sales office is still an inventory home and is still for sale. It is not a $100,000 sales office.

I realize this is off track, But just a reminder to get your questions for Mr. Perry, our Attorney, turned into the FHAOI office by Mon. Apr.4. He will be answering your questions on the current Library lawsuit and will make all pre submitted questions a priority. Plan on also attending the General meeting on Thurs. Apr.7 to hear the results and get some official answers. Thanks

in some states if a privet road is not blocked off by a gate it becomes city property after so many days

Anyone have comments about last nights meeting?????

Randy Muehl said...

It was pretty routine. Biggest thing was getting questions in to me about Library lawsuit for Mr. Perry's appearance at Thurs. meeting, and Thurs. vote by members to approve $2500. for Bingo equip. PLEASE show up and let your voices be heard on these two important resident issues.

After touring"The New and improved Masters clubhouse" i have come to the conclusion that it must have been "Made in China".
