THE CURRENT SITUATION AT OUR POOLS

YES---THERE IS SOME EXISTING PROBLEMS AT OUR 3 POOLS!
At the last board meeting,--there were comments made to Priscilla about unknown persons coming in and using our resident pools. She suggested that residents contact Fairways Watch for violations.
I spoke up and agreed to help remedy the situation,---IF---she would agree to give me in writing, authorization to sign ''no trespass'' orders under the OCSO arrangement.
 Priscilla immediately agreed.
Yesterday ,our manager contacted the HOA president and rescinded the offer to give any authorization to Fairways Watch. Priscilla, instead instructed the residents to call management!
SO!--- Please do---contact Ed Dow cell phone at 407 408 6992 or Priscilla cell phone at 407 770 9016 !
I would like to share a few past experiences that we have had in the past, that resulted in requesting some written authority from management.
Some time back, on a Saturday afternoon---we received several calls from residents, concerning a disturbance at the Westchester. upon arriving---it was  chaos!---A total of about 6 rental residents and Deerwood relatives had taken over the pool. They were even putting a small dog in the water. All of the other residents had literally been chased out. One of the drunken ''participants'', informed me that they were not leaving because they had been in the park for years, and knew their rights!
They would not listen to my request---so---I called 911 and requested assistance from the Orange County Sheriff. In short order 2 units responded. I knew one of the officers, Deputy Jeff Brown-- he demanded that the entire party leave the pool area immediately.
One ''party person'' was so drunk that he could not stand, let alone walk.----so---Deputy Brown called for paramedics to remove the person on a lift.---where he ended up I do not know.
I asked for an OCSO no tress-pass order against the non- residents. The officer explained that I needed an authorization form to sign for HTA---of which I had not.
On the following Monday, I sent a complete report of the event to Priscilla, with names and and the renters address. I also asked If I could get an ok to sign no tress- pass forms.
Priscilla at that time declined to give me a permit to sign.----No comment on the Westchester party.
One more of numerous amenity questionable ventures. About a week ago--we got a call concerning repeated visits to our exercise room by a young lady.
I went to the Westchester room,--and sure enough--there was a very young lady ,sweating up a storm. I asked if she lived in the park?  No she replied--BUT--her grandmother lived in here and that made it ok to use our equipment.
DOES IT MAKE IT OK?---for young outsiders come in and wear out expensive equipment that our rent pays for?----GOOD QUESTION!
It is useless for myself or anyone to try to establish any ''law and order'' with NO AUTHORITY or support from HTA.
Even Barney had one bullet!

There is another issue that sometimes confronts  residents that does not involve the ''outsiders''.
The beloved old comedian, Gorge Gobel---once said ,and I quote---"I have never been drunk--but I have often been over-served'' ----This statement could fit into situations sometimes found around the Masters pool.
There have been complaints from pool users involving, intoxication with loud profanity, and even attempted abusive ''bullying'' from other residents.
The copied Florida statute below, should correct the above problem,if it was enforced by local management!

The 2015 Florida Statutes

Thanks for trying to resolve some of the pool issues. However, I am willing to bet that if any resident calls either of those cell numbers, it will go straight to voice mail. Be lucky to even get a call back .... let's see

How can anyone such as Miss Priss and ED Dow deserve any respect from residents in this park they will never return a call unless it is a week later. We have tried to work with these people for years and that includes Gena Pugh and Steve Braun. Does anyone have a address or names of people over and above of the people mentioned?? There must be owners of hta, stock holders, others we can shower with letters. Anybody we see at golf, club meetings or other meetings never have a good word to say about Miss Priss so if the person as said the other day if we can get this on facebook or other media lets do it. We have had enough of trying to stick up for our rights. Come on lets get mad and upset and go to over the top. Patience is not working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Social media is a wonderful thing, So lets do it.

Believe if you check he current directory and those of the past you will NOT find the name Ed Dow listed his address or phone number!! Does that appear to be someone who has residents best interest at heart??? As though No.1 and No.2 really do not care about those of us who pay their salaries....

Let's try and take their advise and call them when things arise. If they don't answer or respond, we'll try other avenues. It won't take many calls on their time off to get some reactions I bet! I'm sure they don't want more TV cameras......

miss priss and ed Dow phone numbers need to be poster at the pools saying to call them if there are problems

Anonymous said...

I don't think that is wise... put the numbers in your Cell Phone contacts and it will be there ..ready to dial, if needed. Your not going to get any one to answer it anyway.. they will have a recording, if emergency dial 911

some people do not take there phones to the pool, a sign would also put offenders on notice that anyone can call

it would not be wise for miss priss or ed dow

Are "rental residents" somehow a lower class than owners? That seems to be your implication so let me set you straight, there are people renting here that are perfectly lovely people. (And I'm sure there are good people living in Deerwood.) Since I moved here before I was 55 I know how much all the crap about all people under 55 affected me so this disparaging of various groups needs to stop. All of the pool incidents you mention involved residents, period. That said, the residents in both incidents should have been dealt with by HTA. A picture speaks a thousand words so if you have your phone snap a pic for later ID. If you don't take your phone to the pool, jot down the numbers for Ed and Priscilla and stick them on your key ring or whatever you do take to the pool.

As for the young lady working out, was she misbehaving in any way? Was she keeping a resident waiting to use a piece of equipment? If not, then why shouldn't she work out? Her grandmother pays rent that includes the use of the equipment and I bet grandma enjoys having the young lady visit. When my children and grandchildren visit I expect that they should be able to use all of the amenities that I pay for. (I also expect them to behave and be respectful of others, residents or guests.)

re ''apple''
All due respect--The ones that should be ''set straight'' are--the resident homeowners, renters, and outside visitors, that disturb the peace and tranquility of our pools. The majority of residents just want to enjoy swimming, relaxing and enjoying the quiet comradery of other folks.Adult cold beverages are fine and can add to the enjoyment, if not used to excess.
All too often there is loud ,obnoxious and obscene language present. This does not matter who the perpetrators are,--it is just plain wrong! The abusive activities should be monitored and controlled by paid local management. The residents should not have the burden of policing their amenities.
It is all well and good for visiting guests of the park to use our amenities, thats part of the plan.
But, just why should a non-resident person living in central Florida, have access to the exercise room and pool, because a relative lives here? Those athletic people need to join a gym club

Anon 9:58 - I agree with you 100% about the misbehaving residents and their guests! I quote, "That said, the residents in both incidents should have been dealt with by HTA. A picture speaks a thousand words so if you have your phone snap a pic for later ID. If you don't take your phone to the pool, jot down the numbers for Ed and Priscilla and stick them on your key ring or whatever you do take to the pool." I will expand on that by saying that there is no excuse for poor behavior and I would not tolerate it. If I ask someone to stop misbehaving and they refuse I will call Ed, Priscilla or 911.

My point was about demeaning good people by throwing them into groups such as "renters", "under 55", etc. I have never caused a problem here and I have resented the implication that simply because I was under 55 that I was a trouble maker who had no business living here. I strongly feel that all residents should be treated respectfully.

I do see your point on the last item, I just don't agree.

with all due respect, whether nice or not, Deerwood residents should not be using our pools. That is the problem. The residents from Deerwood do not pay lot rent over here. they pay lot rent in their community and should be using their pools etc.. They bring car loads of kids over here, I witnessed it first hand at the masters. They drove up in a van with 6 children, 6 floaties, two coolers, and proceeded into the master pool and enjoyed it all afternoon. They are not ashamed to say where they live either. Then when they were finished, they loaded up the six children, the six floaties, their two coolers, and left. Drove out the gates, took a left on to 50 and then a right straight into deerwood. That is the problem I do not consider these type of visitors actual visitors but someone coming in from the outside and using our amenities. when one approaches these guests and questions them about who they are visiting here etc. they become rude and very defensive. I have seen it more than once.

When people say they are visiting they should name who that is, give an address, and phone number, which car is theirs so a license check can be done if needed. Visiting grandma is not a answer!!!!!!!!!

some play loud radios also I like to go to get away from all the noise

what happened to the signs that were displayed ?

Anonymous said...

I noticed at the green brier pool the signs as to when kids can be in the pool have been removed, does this mean kids can be in the pool anytime? Has HTA announced new pool rules for kids?

Anonymous said...

Yes, I noticed that too.... I wondered because on Saturday afternoon there were young children in that pool... School out in 2 weeks.... are kids now allowed in all 3 pools at anytime?

Anonymous said...

Hey, if the misuse of the pools continue call those two tele numbers as listed, even often as needed. If we do not follow up with the phone calls we have ourselves to blame.

it appears that while our FHAOI busy with the library that didn't go away, hta got rid of the rules that they and the FHAOI had agreed upon in the past. Oh well its pool open season!!!

I just had an interesting conversation with one of our senior residents. Evidently the drunks are back and at it at the Masters pool this past Sunday. I asked this person, why didn't you call Bill and she said "because I'm afraid". I said afraid of what? She said "if I say anything I'm afraid they'll find out who it was, I can't take being confronted, I can't fight them, I'm old". Do you believe this?! Let's get our phones out folks. Take pictures. Video. I refuse to be chased out of my own pool by a group who think they own the place and have no regard but themselves! I understand this woman's concern, I've seen this one particular person in action and it's not pretty. It's gonna take more than one or two people to stand a stand and get our pool back!

I think with regards to the above mentioned party that frequents the pool, we should follow the rules that Priscilla put into place. (until we drive her and Ed crazy with all the phone calls.) And that will happen because if we do call them frequently and they realize that there is truly some problems in the park. The particular party at the Masters is not only there on the weekends but they are also there in the evenings but if we shy away from them then they win. So lets try to enforce the rules and do what Priscilla has asked us to do. Then and maybe just then, management will do something about all of this. I am always going to have my phone with me, proof is in the pudding.

So back to the pool... since the signs are gone? Has the rules changed? When did this become official? The green briar no longer has a 1PM regulation that children are not permitted ?
Just like to know because would look kinda dumb if I called Priscilla about underage kids when this rule no longer is in effect?
Who could verify this?

Anonymous said...

You can by making the call.
