SADLY ,EARLY THIS MORNING--2 OF OUR BEAUTIFUL ''AFLAC'' PEKIN DUCKS WERE LITERALLY SLAUGHTERED BY A ''STUPID
AZZ'' --NON -DRIVING IDIOT!!
The remains of the carcasses, leads to believe that the non-flying birds were struck and ran over,by a vehicle ,far in excess of the NEW posted 15 MPH!
Many times--we slow down or stop for the protected SandHill cranes.----Why not the smaller unprotected, defenseless creatures?
Many of us , go out in the evenings ,with the purpose of just watching, some of Gods more curious and precious creatures.
The Pekin ducks are very trusting with humans--at times they are can be almost like pets.
This breed of ducks are domesticated and can not fly or move very quickly.
AN UNRELATED EVENT
Early this AM--around 7;30--Fairways watch--witnessed the following----We were stopped at the Kingsmill stop sign at Inverary
Very quickly-- came a small red Ford Focus,up Inverary--headed for the gate.---Their speed was estimated at far above the 15 MPH limit! There was no decrease in speed or brake lights,--as the car roared through the stop sign at Pebble Beach!----ADIOS YOU OLD FARTS!
I recognized the driver as an under 55 years of age,registered female resident that lives on Pine Valley.
I have gotten other negative comments of her ''stupid azz'' driving habits!
SO-- WHAT CAN WE DO?
Randy and I have cussed and discussed ,some of the ''driving fools'' in here many times.---The main problem is ---there is no legal means of enforcement for common sense driving ,in our troubled community!
I will attempt this---Fairways Watch owns a small
''portable dash video cam'', --It can be mounted on my golf cart or truck.---Over a year ago--Randy and I used it up around the gate, during the burglary crisis.
We did get some positive results of walk ins, even at night.
Possibly---if we can get a few videos of some crazies,
driving in here--it might help!

An injured sand crane was also spotted on Merion this afternoon and animal control was called and are picking it up for medical attention. Could this be yet another case of an impatient or uncaring person in a hurry to get nowhere? Lets try and get some control over this before more animals and people get hurt. With documentation we can try and put a stop to these fools that are spoiling our little community more than it is already. We've got to take back our community before it's too late, but it takes a concerned effort on EVERYONES part to make a difference. This has been our problem....
Sounds like the same one that passed me and ran the stop sign a short time ago
Very upsetting... I love to go out in the evening see the ducks and feed them some bread. They are so friendly, come right up to the golf cart. I wish someone had witnessed this slaughter.
Where did we get those small, unofficial looking 15 MPH signs?????????? Why does not anyone pay attention to those little things get something to get peoples attention!!!!!!!!!
What would happen if we take a license plate number to Miss Priss of people who do not stop or who are speeding ??????????????????
I live on Warwick Hills Dr. If you want to catch speeders, come over here and watch them go flying by. This includes the employees driving their carts! If some of these drivers are going under 50 MPH I'd be very surprised! The delivery-type vans/trucks are the worst!!!

I live on Warwick Hills Drive as well, I agree with "KZ" on the speeders! 4 out 5 drivers speed down Warwick, I would like to see speed bumps on this street to slow people down.
there are speed bumps and they don't work. people slow down to go over them and then speed up again. you'd have to have speed bumps every 20-30 feet for that to work IMHO.
Hey, Bill sure wish we could help and maybe we will down the road but anyway is this not a Miss Priss problem along with the residents??? It is her signs,her speed limit problem if she does not solve this does this not give her a black eye or a bigger and blacker eye. Maybe some time in the area would help the problem instead of just being at the desk thinking and writing ways to screw resident out of more benefits that we had when we bought in here!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi everyone, alot of people probably have read about Buddy on fairwaysnextdoor.com. A lost little tan, brown Yorkie missing in our community for 14 days. Jean had only owned him a week before he got out of her house, adopting through the Animal Rescue. He has been seen all over our community but does not trust humans and runs away from them. We need to catch this poor dog. If you are out walking or golfing, etc. please bring some food and get low to the ground and maybe he will come for the food. He does not know how to get home. Praying this little guy is rescued soon. He has been seen alot around Warwick Hills, Inverary, Augusta and even by the laundry building. Thanks Mickey C.
Well its been two weeks and the front gate is still open. Does anyone know when the
repair well be made? Guess the parts are coming from China.
Don't think I sent this right the first time from my phone. Our doorbell rang. Thinking it was a resident here I answered it. She was a volunteer promoting a vote for a democratic candidate running for office in Florida. I asked how she got into the community and she replied, innocently, that it was opened and thought it was that way for the weekend. I said she is not suppose to be in here, that the gate is broke. Not to ring neighbors doorbells. I said you need to leave. She apologized for disturbing me. (Doug was napping ha ha). She drives a red or maroon sedan car. Hopefully she has left. Not on my street, Troon now. I also emailed info to Priscilla. Thanks Mickey I phone tecked Bill too.
Maybe this will help some just had the mowers pickup hauling a trailer go by our house doing at least twice the 15 !!!!!!!! If Miss Priss hired these people she needs to enforce her rules or if corporate they need to hop on this pronto before we have more problems.
there we go again....front gate left open at all hours...you call the front office about something and all you get from there is "I didnt recieve any call or message" ....speeding yes up and down Warwick Hills, heck I thought the race track was up the road apparently not...I have been here for 25 plus years and all I have seen is it go downhill...no snack bar or restaraunt (whoppee 25 cents off in the pro shop to residents for all day leftovers) kids running all over the place ... there is no management who will take care of things in here from Priscilla and dont even think Steve will get back....by the way Randy you do a great job with requests, questions and answers...Bill you too
