WHAT IS A ''WHOELIO''?

Image result for illustration of a mystery person

Please do not feel badly,if you do not what a ''WHOELIO'' is!
This is a word that the writer of this blog conjured up
relating to the unknown, unregistered, visitors and residents--living in our community!
Fairways Watch, tries to spend an average of 15-18 hours a week ,out in the community. We are normally out from 7AM, on all streets until around 8;30AM in a truck--then , in the evenings, out on our golf cart, at different hours.
Be advised that we are not the only people watching an observing.-- We have numerous good watchers.---In our travels about our community, there are vehicles as well as persons ,that do not seem to fit the typical ''Fairways profile''!
YES---I used reference to a term that some may find offensive.-----Profiling---Below is a picture, taken recently, that exemplifies, someone that does seem a little out of place in our ''over 55''community!
Several evenings ago,--We seen this 20--30 year old skate boarder ,come through our often open,--inviting gate---He was dressed a little odd--with an old style ''aviator cap''--ear phones on,and awkwardly, moving along on a skate board.--- This person went to a house on Pebble Beach,--that has a history of OCSO service calls.
It is our experience, not to question these types of individuals--they are not always forthcoming.
It is best to quietly follow people such as this and make note of the address that they go to. After we have an obvious  address---we advise the management with details and pictures, if we have photos.
We have no authority to make any inquiry in matters such as this--ONLY THE HTA MANAGEMENT HAS THAT AUTHORITY!
In cases such as this--the required time to call for the sheriff  for a suspicious is prohibited.
The following morning--we seen this same person leaving the same house on Pebble Beach--going up the street ,leaving the park west bound. All of this information, along with this picture was sent to Priscilla.
Hopefully ,our management, followed up on this report, and resolved any questions of approval and park registration!
YEP!---I CONSIDER THIS MYSTERY SKATEBOARDER A ''WHOLIEO''

RE ANON 5;39
FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH
I sent Priscilla this pic and info early, in the morning.
By chance---I seen her truck parked in front of the address in question--talking to the resident owner IN THE CAR PORT---,on the same afternoon!
THE WHEEL WILL KEEP SQUEAKING!

We all know Miss Priss will not check this out because of corp rules. Another reason she would like for you to get discouraged and quit. do not ever give up Bill you are the best thing we have going. Maybe the compliance officer could help patrol the streets and enforce the rules because management sure will not. speaking of compliance officer how can he write up residents for weed eating when the Warwick Hills area has not been mowed in weeks come on Miss Priss live up to the rules you keep writing.

Anonymous said...

The compliance officer could help but that would take away from his time he spends in the pro shop and the masters.

With all the rule changes Did Miss Priss add something to the effect residents have to rake up dead grass when lawns are not mowed for weeks on end should not mention this as we are sure the raking will be next.

I have gotten used to just chucking it into the street .

Living back on Warwick Hills you have to pay the top rent with the least benefits if you want the top upkeep you must live by the office or the entry way where the upkeep is top notch for visitors etc.

Speaking of top notch how about the increase for the storage area Miss Priss could not wait to stab all these residents in the back and keep turning the knife deeper!!!!!!!!! She is a very spiteful person and cannot wait to do it to you. As people are saying we are treated like "second class citizens" and we are now climbing on with the saying and agreeing!!!!!!!!!

Not to be a nay sayer but I don't know too many things in the world that have not gone up in price. Once you stop and think about it, probably the park itself has experienced increases in their bills and they have to pass that along to us. If you lived in the out side world, as we all probably have at one time or another, you would honestly realize that what we have even with the increases is a bang for your buck. You have to quit living in the past and saying well this way it was, because it isn't anymore. I personally think the way of life here is great and maybe if you take a good look around you will see how fortunate we are. Take a drive into any neighborhood in Orlando, and you will be surprised at what you see. I appreciate what we have here. And NO, I do not work for management. I am a satisfied resident.

The basic rent increase was acceptable, the pass-thru tax was way out of line. I never seen an increase that high in the 10 years I lived here. Also, we are suppose to get a discount for basic cable (which we did when HOA controlled it). Since HOMETOWN has taken over it goes up $2.00 every year. IS Brighthouse increasing Hometown this much or is it just another way of Hometown taking advantage. I wonder if there is anyway that the cable increase is justified or just more profit for Hometown.

Yes, HTA's bills have gone up... an estimated $80,000 to $120,000, alone, to defend itself against the lawsuit our FHAOI brought against it.
And yes, residents should admit that the prices HTA pays may increase and it might spend more to maintain the Fairways - things that generate prospective costs. But, the storage area is a sunk cost with virtually no capex needed to maintain it. So, people who rent storage should be suspicious that HTA is sticking it to them with a sharp increase in the annual fee. They are likely paying for something else HTA has in mind. So, HTA should be upfront about the fee's sudden and steep rise.
Though, there is also a fair chance that the hike is just an F U from management that got its tender little feelings hurt when it was sued by people who failed to recognize HTA's genius and lofty social standing as a mobile home park operator in greater Bithlo, Fl.

Also - I do agree with @7:21
The majority of people who live in the US and Canada could increase our happiness if we improved our practice of gratitude.

When we got our new lot rent prices, one would have noticed that the lot rent only went up approximately $1 and change. The reason our rent went up was because of the taxes. The taxes for free open areas such as the compound went up as well which would mean more taxes for HTA. So therefore reasonably speaking the cost again would be put on us, the residents. Don't feel the same as you Andy because I don't think that HTA sits around and thinks of ways to FU meaning the residents.

So, again, on the news a shooting in Alafaya Palms mobile home (other day Deerwood) both are just next store. Meanwhile our gates are open all night long. For weeks, now. So I called the office this morning and asked the woman when are the gates going to be fixed, its long enough. Her reply "I really don't know", probably waiting for a part" and Priscilla not in to ask her... So there you have it..
So frustrated....!!!!

Yes, we definitely need ramp up our security, starting with the gates. Maybe we all need to send Priscilla emails. Bill, Randy and others do a magnificent job patrolling our neighborhood and we are so fortunate for this. We also have so many neighborhood watch people who keep their eyes open, but things are definitely becoming more serious in nature now and much more closer to home. We have a bus stop directly at our entrance now and I have seen people waiting for the bus and just eye balling our entrance. I for one, and going to follow this note up, with an email to Priscilla.

Good Luck..... when I called this morning I was told "she was not in".. who knows... but at least let her know we are not just sitting down and accepting broken gates continually.... If enough people voice their concern, maybe it will accelerate the repair.....

This is the first GATED community we have seen where it is easier to get in than it is to get out. What is with the in gate now for days on in ?????????? The same with the Warwick Hills area getting mowed a resident had to get it straight Miss Priss could not for almost 4 weeks!!!!!! People rake the dead grass into the street!!!!!! Maybe she can get that taken care of!!!!!!

Exactly. Priscilla is very good about answering emails or at least that has been the case with me. We need a lot of people to call or email her so that she knows that we are concerned about the issue which seems to be like a broken record. Even if the gates are really for looks, then we want that "look". so everyone out there, please either call the office or email Priscilla.

I don't want the gates "for looks".. I want them for security. You are correct, documentation is the best. Emails have a trail, phone calls don't.

We are always being warned about the elderly being scammed from people outside while Miss Priss is scamming the elderly right here. We are being scammed with a tax pass thru, scammed with a large increase on cable, scammed with increase in the RV storage, scammed with the words "gated community" why not investigate the scamming going on inside!!!!!!!!!!!!

We called about the gate Thur. and was told they were working on it. We said whoa wait a minute we have been thru the gate every day for the last five we have never seen anyone working on it. The answer we received back was a little teste but we can not blame them if we had to make up excuses and falsehoods for our manager we certainly would be upset also.

Anonymous said...

Do all of you realize she does on purpose lets the gate linger for days on end being busted. She is hoping we all get upset enough we vote to improve the situation with a tax pass thru which would be another BIG money maker for her---- more plaques and year end bonus ..

Anonymous said...

Maybe the corporate office needs to be aware of how many times the gate is broke and how long it takes to be repaired. However, Im not sure that would make a difference anymore. Seems like they just don't care..... WE report it and the management gets rewarded with bonuses. So apparently the residents concerns have no relevancy.

I don't understand why some people keep complaining about the price of cable. There is no one making you get your cable through the Fairways. If you think that the Fairways is making too much money from cable and you still want cable from Brighthouse, just call them direct and have them quote you on the cost. I did that about 6 months ago and found out it was about $15 more than what the Fairways charge. Make sure when you call, you tell them that you are pricing the extended basic and one digital box. If they quote you a better price, just have them start to bill you and cancel with the Fairways office. Don't complain, just fix it.

Anonymous said...

The price you were quoted was not a discount. Fairways is getting a discount (group rate) for bulk customers and senior discount. So comparing is not very equal..... The question is ... Hometown raises our cable each year, has brighthouse raised it the same or are they just increasing because the can.

Please - out of respect - could we declare a moratorium on the all vile and snarky references to the Fairways' property manager for a month or so.

I heard they are not having a New Years Day "Bloody Mary" this year....a tradition for many years here and it would be a shame not to continue it....does anyone have any info on this thanks
