MAYHEM ON PEBBLE BEACH !

Last evening [August 14] Fairways Watch started receiving calls from alert residents. The calls related to a large number of sheriff units, coming down Pebble Beach. The deputies went to 2092 Pebble beach. This is a home owned by a person in Georgia, and has no occupants, most of the time. There has been no cars or activity at this house for several months . The deputies were dispatched for a ''code 3'' burglary in progress!.
Other streets were also sealed off that lead to the suspect house.
In all there were 14 units dispatched, including 2 K-9  deputies.
FOLKS --THIS IS THE KIND OF GREAT RESPONSE THAT WE GET FROM SECTOR 2 AND CAPTAIN MEADE,S DEPUTIES--KUDOS TO THOSE GUYS AND GALS!
Within minutes K-9 Deputy ''chief'' had ''arrested'' the suspect.
''It was not pretty''--- The young, black male suspect sustained severe dog bites to his right arm and was bleeding profusely!
EMS was called and gave medical aid to the suspect. Later the suspect was restrained on a gurney and transported.--- The fire engine stayed, after the ambulance left, and cleaned the blood from the driveway , with a hose !
This whole mess relates to one thing---LACK OF GATE SECURITY--WE HAVE SAID IT SO MANY TIME---''WE DO NOT HAVE A CLUE AS TO WHO IN THE HELL IS IN HERE OR IS COMING IN AND OUT.''
This is another example of good concerned residents, watching, and doing the right thing.--THANK YOU GOOD RESIDENTS--- This post is only a summary---within a few days, we should be able to get a copy of the event report from OCSO and if possible we will post the actual report for all to see.
Later this AM I will contact Captain Meade and ,on the behalf of Fairways residents, thank him for a job ,well done by his people.

UPDATE---- FRIDAY MORNING!
As promised,--Fairways Watch ,contacted the Sector 2 commander, Captain Bret Meade this AM. A few minutes after I sent the Captain a  thank you text message from the Fairways  residents. The Captain called me on my cell phone. He had just went through his early morning briefing notes. I will share the information as follows:
A 911 code 3 dispatch [burglary in progress] was made due to a Fairways resident call. --When a call like this comes in they ''HAUL A#S ''---THEY ARE COMING!--nuff said.
In all 14 units responded.---They found the front door wide open at 2092 PB.--There were no vehicles present --no lights. The Captain stated that his officers followed protocol, to the letter. The deputies attempted to make voice contact with the intruder--they also issued verbal warnings---NO RESPONSE-- In a situation, such as this ,the K-9 deputy enters first, followed by the armed officers. WHY DID THE UNREGISTERED GUEST NOT RESPOND?
What happened next is described above.
NOW--HERE IS THE KICKER---The officers, after the arrest, were able to make contact with the home owner in Georgia!---HE DID NOT WANT TO PRESS CHARGES,--BECAUSE HE KNEW THE INTRUDER!!
HERE WE GO AGAIN---ANOTHER'' UNDER THE RADAR''
UNREGISTERED RESIDENT.-See my previous ''under the radar'' post.  THIS SAME CRAP GOES ON AND ON.

A good word about the ''arresting officer'' Chief. I have personally met ''Deputy chief'' and his handler, 2 years ago at the Sheriffs civilian academy. On graduation night we were invited to bring our wives and friends. to the last training session. The last night, featured the K-9 and mounted patrol division. I took my wife and fairways resident Bobbie Jancen [both animal nuts]
Chief is a beautiful Belgian Malinois breed. The handler brought Chief, out of his personal plush Tahoe SUV and he was introduced to the group --no muzzle--just a leash. We were invited to talk to him and pet him--he was the perfect gentle man. A VERY SMALL LITTLE GIRL, WENT UP AND PATTED HIM ON THE HEAD.---Last night Chief had his uniform on !

THANK YOU CAPTAIN, DEPUTIES AND YOU TOO CHIEF ---GOOD JOB!

Now this is what I like to read. No assumptions, name calling, accusations. REAL EVIDENCE. Kudos to whoever called the police and stopped a crime and lead to the arrest of the criminal. Also, please give me appreciation to the police for their prompt response and arrest. Hopefully, the word will get out that FAIRWAYS is NOT the place you want to break into....

Bill. That brings up a question. What happen to the no soliciting sign that was up front. This place was overrun with people soliciting political flyers all over the park .

Hey, I noticed that also. Does anyone know where they went.

I am suspicious of these home owners...it is reported that they are not pressing charges because the suspect was known by the them and they say he was a legal visitor? What is up with that?

RE SIGNS
Not only the NO SOLICITING sign is gone--so is the NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH Sign. I asked what happened to them---OH --THEY GOT HIT BY A TRUCK AND WE HAD TO THROW THEM AWAY-----SO HELP ME FOLKS-- THATS WHAT THEY SAID---''HONEST INJUN''
BUT WE GOT NEW SIGNS AT THE POOLS SAYING THAT NO BICYCLES ARE ALLOWED IN THE POOLS!!!---GO FIGURE --I CAN NOT!

Great job Bill & OCSO. You're right Bill, this entire problem lies at the feet of Hometown. Where did those signs go? Where is check on unregistered guests? Where is the legal action to remove the sex offender? No action here but by God you had better keep those weeds cut around you're house. Time to start acting like responsible property owners Hometown and do the job we pay you to do!

Oooops! I forgot to thank the most important person here, the vigilant resident that called 911. It's people like you that watch out for their neighbors that help secure this community. Thank you resident!

I certainly hope that one of our clubs is going to keep up the tradition of having the Appreciation Day Golf Tournemant for our Police and Fire protection, it would be a damn shame if this was not an annual event, as last years was such a success.

Not sure but think the sex offener may be gone? ? ? ?

Re 12:42. You are soooo right about the appreciation day for fire and police . I can tell you that not too many years ago that was one of our biggest events. What the hell happen? I'll tell you what happen .the board happened new members new priorities. God forbid the clubs don't have all the attention . That's whats more important to this new board . When I say new board I'm going back 4 to5 years. I'm blaming all of the new and old from that time frame. You should all be ashamed of you selves.these people put there lives on the line every time they answer a call and this is how you treat them. If you call the events you had the last few years a thank you. Think again people.

RE 12;42 AND 3;02
You folks are so right! We all need to get together and have a REAL day for the best safety forces, in the country. These guys and gals go all the way for us---It would be a shame, not to show our appreciation to them.
We should even invite ''Chief'' He is very sociable, most of the time.
Could not some of the major clubs work together with the HOA and Hometown to really make an event worth having?
Why not open up an appreciation day ,not only to the law officers and fire rescue---but also include their families!
Yes---it would take, work, planning cooperation, and some money. -----WOULD IT NOT BE WORTH IT?

Hate to disappoint you 12:42, but according to state records ,the offender is still registered to live in here!

If each club would donate $100_ and hta kick in, we could have a very memorable, appreciation day, for all and their families.
Hoefully the president of our hoa will be the first to donate. Come on neighbirs, show some appreciation, does it always have to be about you?

We had wonderful donation from many of the area business 's the whole community would get involved . It was a lot of fun and it was a great way to say thank you to our police and fire dept. It would be wonderful to see that again.Any volunteer 's?
