PATRIOTISM IS ALIVE AND WELL IN THE FAIRWAYS !

        STARS AND STRIPES FOREVER

Residents out and around the Masters, may have noticed the new revamped decor for the VFW war memorial area. This quality art work was recently completed by a contractor, hired and paid for by our local VFW post 5046.
YES--some of our local ''old warriors'' may have aged, and their eye sight dimmed,--- but not their love of  our country. The VFW gives back to our community more than most any other group or club. They collect our cans and papers weekly. With the proceeds, they provide walkers and other needs to our handicapped residents. In addition to all of this, private monetary gifts are given to various charity groups.
Recently, on a TV news cast, it was said that there are only 4 Pearl Harbor survivors left in Florida. ---Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe 2 of these gentlemen live in the Fairways!
I do not know of a resident or veteran [myself included] ,that does not look with pride and respect upon this memorial.--I feel sorry for any misguided soul that feels differently.
Let us also not forget the smaller VFW memorial, inside the Masters,--the ''missing patrol'' table,----The plate, dinnerware and chair say so much about those that are gone and unaccounted for. Some have said that WHEN the Masters is renovated,---there will not be room for the small table!--- IF TRUE--WHY THE HELL NOT ??
THANK YOU VFW POST 5046 FOR HELPING ALL OF US TO REMEMBER!

It would be a damn shame if HTA cannot make room for a small table in the remodel of the Masters. Come on people...... The vets fought for you too ! ! ! ! Let's honor them in any way we can

I have had the flu all week, but heard a terrible rumor, that HTA (Ed) painted over the red white and blue in all white.. Hopefully this is not true.

RE JAN 28
Just as so many other ''tales'' in our community--this is just a rumor. the memorial is fine!. I had more views and favorable comments on this post than many others.
It is my humble opinion that any damage or desecration of the memorial---would be the start of world war III in the Fairways!

Thanks Bill, I was hoping it was one ugly rumor regarding the painting over of the memorial. I was ready to start a sit in or march for freedom. Thanks for clearing that up. Much appreciated
