ANOTHER RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY, WITH AN UNUSUAL TWIST !

ANOTHER BURGLARY IN OUR PARK THAT WAS REPORTED THURSDAY FEBRUARY 26 !
THE RESIDENCE THAT WAS BURGLARIZED IS LOCATED ,IN THE AREA OF PINE VALLEY AND TROON.
The immediate theory and assumption was,---- that the point of entry, was from underneath the residence,up through the cold air return filter enclosure, ---However,---this type of entry would have been  extremely difficult.----The filter enclosure area was heavily damaged. The burglar would have to been of a very, very small, thin stature!
The home had been thoroughly ''ransacked''.Many drawers and containers had been dumped, and some emptied.
As in previous park burglaries, jewelry theft, seemed to be the main target of the thieves.---An observation was made that ''It seems as if the burglar or burglars,---had been in and out of the home several times''
The resident had been away from home since Saturday.---an exact time and date of the crime, has not been determined.----A complete investigation was made by OCSO, and a report filed.

COULD THIS HELP OUR COMMUNITY?

THE ''RESIDENT IDENTIFICATION'' DECAL, PICTURED BELOW WAS GIVEN TO FAIRWAYS WATCH BY A LONG TIME RESIDENT.---tks.

This attractive resident ID windshield sticker was issued with pride many years ago to all resident HOMEOWNERS.
Fairways Watch has sent a copy along with a written suggestion to our current HOA board of directors.
We ask the board to consider ,printing up some new, updated,[possibly reflective] of an attractive design, identification decal windshield stickers.
We feel that new stickers could serve as an aid in getting a more accurate home owners list in place.
HTA will not give our HOA a resident list, due to their ''super secret privacy act''---[PURE OLD BULL S*#% ]
We suggest this---If a new design is chosen And is produced,--residents could be asked to come to the HOA office, or go to a monthly meeting,--They should--- produce ID--- and be registered to vote in the HOA elections--upon completion of these requirements, the homeowner would be given decals for each vehicle, registered to them. ----Then,on a STRICTLY voluntary basis make a ''free will''contribution to the''meager'' HOA defense fund.
This type of ID could have other, far reaching benefits. Many of us residents ,remember back to ''Hurricane Charley''---Immediately after Charley, the Fairways became an immediate target for ''aluminum scavengers'' The residents banded together and manned the ''not so gated community''---One of the main problems we had was identifying the ''real'' residents!---A good ID decal would have been a blessing.
PLEASE folks---lets give our new board the support they need.---any comments and suggestions to this post will be copied and given to the board before their special,''GET OUT THE VOTE'' meeting on February 18.------PS.-----SOME NEW IDENTIFICATION STICKERS, MAY GIVE US SOMETHING BADLY NEEDED---''PRIDE'' IN OUR COMMUNITY!

HERE WE GO AGAIN !

                 CODE 3---LIGHT BARS ON !

Wednesday evening, around 8 PM--- EMS along with 2 OCSO units, entered the Fairways at a good rate of speed. All units responded to the ''problem residence'', at the corner of Pebble Beach and Torrey Pines CT.
The OCSO computer dispatch stated ''EMS medical assistance''. This type of dispatch is normally used when there is a POSSIBLE security issue involving EMS personnel.---Fairways Watch went to the scene. All respondents were inside the house. There was ,however a young white male, outside ,pacing back and forth while on a cell phone. There were also several young non resident white females, that appeared to be going in and out of the residence.
EMS personnel brought out the elder resident on a gurney and transported the individual.
Afterwards Fairways Watch spoke to the 2 officers. Their comment was that the main issue was one of a medical nature.
Over the years---This same house and resident has been the subject of many OCSO ''calls for service''
These calls have involved -- a robbery report, stolen vehicle, drunk and disorderly ''guests''--- and on and on. Fairways Watch has recorded several of these events with pictures. As recently as last week----we published a post ,complete with photo,--of one of the''guests''.
About 2 years ago Fairways Watch found 2 young inebriated females ,crawling across Pebble Beach, trying to get to this house. This incident occurred on a Sunday morning at 7;15 AM---911 was called--both OCSO and EMS responded, ---but the ''young ladies'' had been invited in by the resident and nothing could be legally done.
All of these events have been reported to management to no avail. HTA states that they have no control over the problem guests---due to the fact that the home owner invites them in. OCSO also sites the same legal reason.
The current and past events at this residence do not enhance or help elevate our community, to the HTA claimed title of a ''PREMIER COMMUNITY''
If the Fairways wants to be recognized as a ''PREMIER COMMUNITY'' the title must be earned honestly---not just posted out front on a fancy sign!

WE SPOKE TOO SOON---BURGLARY !

MAJOR BURGLARY IN THE                              FAIRWAYS!

At last nights HOA meeting, we gladly proclaimed, that there had been no lost property reports for almost 2 months.
All that changed this morning February 6 at approximately 11;15 AM !
A female resident that lives in the corner area of Pebble Beach and Firestone, left for a short walk, around 11AM.. Upon return ,it was discovered that the home had been burglarized in a very short period of time. All doors were locked, with the possible exception of a small door facing the golf course. The burglar evidently, entered and left through that door. At the time of the burglary, there were many people in the area ,due to a golf event.
The financial loss was considerable, due to the theft of family jewelry. The thief did not bother with electronics, or other types of valuables. It is believed that the thief used a small beach bag to carry the loot  in.  There was a discussion of possible leads, but nothing concrete.
OCSO was called and detailed report filed.
BE ON GUARD ---WATCH FOR FOLKS THAT APPEAR NOT TO BELONG, IN OUR COMMUNITY---WHEN IN DOUBT CALL 911 FOR A ''SUSPICIOUS PERSON''

             WATCH FOR UPDATES
A SPECIAL NOTE--ALL OF OUR BURGLARIES, IN THE PAST YEAR HAVE BEEN IN BROAD DAYLIGHT !----BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 11 AM AND 1 PM---THIEVES ARE BELIEVED TO BE ON FOOT, --- IT IS BELIEVED THAT VEHICLES ARE NOT USED IN THE IMMEDIATE AREA OF THE CRIMES. STOLEN ITEMS ARE CARRIED AWAY IN BAGS OR PILLOW CASES.

ANOTHER '' DAMN NUISANCE'' IN OUR COMMUNITY !

Just about the time, we think that we have had enough disturbances, --another ridiculous situation arises.

Image result for picture of red 4 wheelerFairways Watch has received several complaints recently about a large, loud 4-wheeler, ''roaring'' up and around the east end of Spyglass St. This is reportedly a large red machine, with only a headlight.
The time frame for this activity is usually around 8-9 PM. The operator does not seem to fit the 55+ criteria.[ boy--what a surprise that is'']
It seems that due to the short periods of activity,--calling 911 would be to no avail.---It is also a fact that OCSO, can not enforce violations on our private roads.---It is up to HTA to STOP this, before an accident or injury occurs to some our residents, out for an evening stroll.
Fairways Watch was advised that the front office was told of this situation. ----BUT-- as usual --not much interest was shown.
Fairways Watch has good reason to believe that we know where ''Evil Knevel '' lives [with his mother] !---Once that this is positively known,---we will give this information  to the front office as well as to our HOA board.---- IT WILL BE UP TO HTA TO HANDLE AND CORRECT THE SITUATION.

OUR ''OWN LITTLE WORLD'' IS CHANGING!

''Once upon a time''---the Fairways was out in the country. There was not even a traffic light, near the entrance.
UCF was just a school, several miles away.
      NOT TRUE, ANY MORE!
A large new UCF student resident dormitory is under construction, about 1 mile away from the Fairways! It appears that this new building will house hundreds [if not more] young residents  The area,s rapid growth is affecting all of us will continue to do so. Some of the effects could be positive,---others will be negative.
With this growth, there will hopefully be more restaurants. [we certainly need that, after being screwed out of ours---once again--- thanks  HTA!] Some new retail outlets would also be welcome.
A number of us have visited the new Cheddars restaurant, along with our old favorites, like Steak & Shake,--Denny's---Chilli's ---The question is---will the overpopulation of STUDENTS in this area, take over our limited choices of ''dining out''? The new Publix, is already overcrowded in the evenings.----BIGGER IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER!
Dining out and shopping  restrictions, are not our only concern---With growth comes INCREASED CRIME!
The attached photo's were not taken in the inner city--They come from a much closer area,--in fact literally in our front yard
The above ''gang graffiti'' photo was taken ,behind the Chevron station, across the street! Fairways Watch has been told by an OCSO officer, that the operators of this Chevron are not cooperative with law enforcement.
The photo below ,with the ''Crips'' gang tag was taken behind the Broadway Pizza restaurant, near the Olive Garden. The ''Bloods'' and ''Crips'' are the most notorious of all the national violent gangs.
All of the above, puts an added strain on our safety forces. Many of our residents know first hand, about the critical response time for our paramedic crews.
Captain Garrison and the ''good guys'' will be pushed, even harder to maintain the peace in our 400 square mile sector 2.----They will all need more money and personnel from our Orange County Commissioners!
Down the road a way  we may want to consider sending a petition from our HOA to our County commissioner, Ted Edwards,---asking for more support for our good and faithful safety forces----they never let us down !
In the mean time we all need to be more vigilant than ever---We seem to have an increase, in WALK--INS.We suspicion that there are some non residents, staying in the Fairways at night. We ask everyone---""WHEN IN DOUBT CALL 911! ---Simply advise the dispatcher of a ''suspicious person''
Fairways Watch has noticed, that for some unknown reason, HTA is leaving lights on ,in some of their new homes at night!------Hmmn
