OUR ''OWN LITTLE WORLD'' IS CHANGING!

''Once upon a time''---the Fairways was out in the country. There was not even a traffic light, near the entrance.
UCF was just a school, several miles away.
      NOT TRUE, ANY MORE!
A large new UCF student resident dormitory is under construction, about 1 mile away from the Fairways! It appears that this new building will house hundreds [if not more] young residents  The area,s rapid growth is affecting all of us will continue to do so. Some of the effects could be positive,---others will be negative.
With this growth, there will hopefully be more restaurants. [we certainly need that, after being screwed out of ours---once again--- thanks  HTA!] Some new retail outlets would also be welcome.
A number of us have visited the new Cheddars restaurant, along with our old favorites, like Steak & Shake,--Denny's---Chilli's ---The question is---will the overpopulation of STUDENTS in this area, take over our limited choices of ''dining out''? The new Publix, is already overcrowded in the evenings.----BIGGER IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER!
Dining out and shopping  restrictions, are not our only concern---With growth comes INCREASED CRIME!
The attached photo's were not taken in the inner city--They come from a much closer area,--in fact literally in our front yard
The above ''gang graffiti'' photo was taken ,behind the Chevron station, across the street! Fairways Watch has been told by an OCSO officer, that the operators of this Chevron are not cooperative with law enforcement.
The photo below ,with the ''Crips'' gang tag was taken behind the Broadway Pizza restaurant, near the Olive Garden. The ''Bloods'' and ''Crips'' are the most notorious of all the national violent gangs.
All of the above, puts an added strain on our safety forces. Many of our residents know first hand, about the critical response time for our paramedic crews.
Captain Garrison and the ''good guys'' will be pushed, even harder to maintain the peace in our 400 square mile sector 2.----They will all need more money and personnel from our Orange County Commissioners!
Down the road a way  we may want to consider sending a petition from our HOA to our County commissioner, Ted Edwards,---asking for more support for our good and faithful safety forces----they never let us down !
In the mean time we all need to be more vigilant than ever---We seem to have an increase, in WALK--INS.We suspicion that there are some non residents, staying in the Fairways at night. We ask everyone---""WHEN IN DOUBT CALL 911! ---Simply advise the dispatcher of a ''suspicious person''
Fairways Watch has noticed, that for some unknown reason, HTA is leaving lights on ,in some of their new homes at night!------Hmmn

In reference to the lights left on issue, could it be that HTA has had trouble with someone getting into their new homes at night?
