A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO THE ''GOOD GUYS''

Over the years Fairways Watch, has stated many times that the Fairways is blessed with the finest safety forces any where in our great country.
An event that transpired ,early afternoon Monday April 20, demonstrates that statement once again.
Shortly after lunch, we received a call from one of our trusted ''spotters'', in the area of the 2000 block of Warwick Hills. The report was for 2 OCSO units and 2 EMS vehicles. A check of the ''calls for service'' dispatch said ''aggravated assault'' and''medical delta''.
Upon arrival at the scene, we observed the following--
A known resident was secured on a transport gurney, surrounded by both paramedics and sheriff deputies. As always, we stayed back away from the scene as the event unfolded,--it was unusual. The resident was placed in the ambulance and transported.
We waited until the last deputy was leaving, and spoke with the officer.
The following details are paraphrased--- as given by the veteran lady deputy----
''We were notified of a domestic disturbance.--When we arrived on the scene,I saw the described suspect beside of a house across the street.
I went across the street to talk to him. As I approached him,--he came at me with this!-----[ displaying a T shaped tool used for lawn equipment maintenance ]---I was able to control him without using deadly force !----He was transported to Florida East as a precaution and a physical check.---I am on the way to transport him to 33rd. street!----He will be charged with aggravated assault on a LEO with a deadly weapon.''
THIS SAME RESIDENT WAS RELEASED FROM JAIL, A FEW WEEKS AGO, AFTER ASSAULT CHARGES WERE DROPPED BY THE VICTIM!

On the behalf of all of the Fairways community ,I am sending Captain Garrison, commander of Sector 2 a heart felt thank you. for a job well done!
This veteran deputy had every legal right to use deadly force, but chose not to.
It is logical to assume,---that if this person would attempt to attack a well armed sheriff's deputy---he could also do the same to a fellow resident.
This is a second degree felony charge, punishable with a sentence of 5 to 30 years!

several residents have asked about the weapon that the deputy was threatened with---this picture is of that actual weapon

This guy should not be allowed back in EVER!!! The authorities have been to this home dozens of times for different instances. Because Ms Pris doesn't want to pay legal fees to evict him (or others) from the park, I agree, we are becoming the New Bithlo trailer park - Phase 2.

Ummmm, I wonder if our fearless leader Priscilla knows about this idiot living here???? Ummmm, was a background check done on him???? What does it take to keep these idiots out of here???? Why has he been walking amongst us???? Lordy, we feel so safe here! If only HTA would do their job, maybe we would feel safe. Why must we walk on pins and needles and not stir the pot? Thank goodness for our Sheriff's department! Thanks Bill, at least you care about us residents!

We lived at Deerwood for a short time but as seniors we quickly realized we didn't want to live in a family community where youngsters and teenagers were running around unsupervised. My husband was the victim of an attempted hold up while walking our dog at Deerwood and that prompted us to move to Fairways where we would be SAFE.
It definitely is a MUCH better environment here but we have noticed more "riff raff" walking around and "visiting" residents.
We expected the management to do their due diligence and filter out the unsavory characters by doing background checks. It now seems apparent that the almighty dollar wins out over residents safety. Thank you to the Neighborhood Watch group and our police for watching out for us. Shame on you "management"!
