''BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES''

The title of this post is derived from an old nautical quotation. It was a warning to the ships crew to''protect yourself from harm in every way possible''
In view of some recent thefts and burglaries in our community, that is good advice to all residents. The Fairways is experiencing a sharp increase in auto burglaries and home burglaries. MOST OF THE CRIMINAL ACTIVITY, SEEMS TO BE IN THE WESTERN AREA OF OUR COMMUNITY. INVERARY DR.,SEEMS TO BE THE AREA OF CHOICE FOR THE THIEVES. ON FRIDAY NIGHT ,SEPT 27, THERE WERE 2 AUTO BURGLARIES IN THE 1800 AND 1900 BLOCK OF INVERARY DR.. BOTH VEHICLES, WERE LOCKED, AS REPORTED BY THE OWNERS. ONE RESIDENT LOST A VALUABLE I PAD.
All known thefts have been reported to the Orange County Sheriffs Office.Investigations were made and some finger prints were taken.
Lock your cars and trucks---lock your homes, even when leaving for a short period.
FOLKS WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER WATCH OUT FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR NEIGHBOR
''IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING !''

Looks like the druggies and dope heads are out in full force. Problem is, are they Northerners settling in for the winter or are they our own in-house losers? An ipad here a gps there a quick trip to the pawn shop and they're good for another day, and it doesn't stop! Come on folks, don't be so naive, we've got a lot of problems right here in River City. Keep your homes and cars locked as Bill says and when you have an incident, let Bill know, right after you call the Sheriff to report it. The sheriff's department can't step up patrols if they don't know we're having problems. Watch over your neighbor's house as well. Good advice Bill.

What has our nice park turned into? What has happened in here to cause so much crime now? Lets ask ourselves what has changed within the last few years? My thought is several things, but more importantly its HTA's lackadaisical approach to the criminal element in here that can be directly related to the increase in crime. In addition, the OPEN to the public campaign has just opened the flood gates to the a crime spree.
As many have said before, as long as they (HTA) don't have to live on property, nothing will change for the residents.

Is our HTA Manager to good to live in the park, or is she afraid to live in the park? I think if we had a Manager or at least an Assistant Manager that lived in the park, things might be a little different. Again, do you know your neighbour? Why not? If it is someone you just ignore or don't tell the office or Bill about them, nothing is going to change.

There is a note at the mail boxes. Someone stole a bike from the carport at 1968 Inverary and the owners were home! Saturday 10/19 I believe. Were the gates open again?
