SERIOUS VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN THE FAIRWAYS

FREAK ACCIDENT SERIOUSLY INJURES RESIDENT !

At approximately 9:15 AM  Monday, Fairways Watch received a call from one of our block captain spotters. EMS and police vehicles were at an address on Kings Mills Dr. A check of the EMS web site and OCSO site ,showed dispatches to 1758 Kings Mill, for a vehicle accident. Fairways watch went to the scene and found a damaged Jeep SUV and a Florida Highway Patrolman---- Trooper Reyes.
The trooper was filling out a report on the accident described as follows. ----A 64 year old male resident pulled into park at 1758 Kings Mill. The resident neglected to put the transmission into the park position, before leaving the Jeep.---The vehicle started moving, unattended ,down Kings Mill. In attempt to stop the vehicle, the resident, tried to open the door and bring the car to a halt. The car,----out of control, ended up against a tree at 1788 Kings Mill.---. This left the resident pinned between the door and the tree.
EMS transported the accident victim to the hospital. Trooper Reyes said that the resident was seriously injured---but the injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
FOLKS---WE CAN ALL LEARN FROM THIS!------TAKE TIME TO SLOW DOWN AND THINK!
This is the second such accident within recent memory in our community. Several years ago ,a resident, on Carnoustie Ct. critically injured himself in a similar mishap.----Sadly that accident ended with the death of that victim.
