As reported previously East Orange County has a new Sector 2 commander. Captain Stephen Garrison is the successor to Captain Brett Meade.Captain Garrison accepted his new position at the First of September. I had the pleasure to first meet Captain Garrison at Captain Meade,s retirement party on September 12.
Captain Garrison,s law enforcement resume can best be summed up in a few words---''BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT'' His career ,as an officer spans over 20 years.He did it the hard way--working his way up through the ranks. The new Captain has served the Sheriff's office as a cyber detective, SWAT team member, dive team officer, economic crimes detective,and even worked the agricultural division [air boats and gators]--- The above information was found in the Linkedin website.
I was recently contacted by Captain Garrison, asking to meet with Fairways Watch, out here in the Fairway needless to say,I was flattered by his request.
On the morning of November 14, I met with Captain Garrison, at the Masters club house. At the Captains request, we were joined by his ''special projects'' officer Jason Murrill.
We had a great productive meeting, covering many subjects and problems, that are pertinent to our area.
I have made reference to Deputy Murrill several times at our HOA meetings. I thought that it was appropriate to have a picture of him for the residents.---YES-- Jason is as big as he looks.Deputy Murrill has done a number of things, behind the scenes for ALL of us in the Fairways.---A word to the wise ---DON'T MESS WITH JASON!
Captain Garrison has expressed a desire to continue the good work of his predecessors, in the Fairways. I believe that he can help educate all of us at our next security and safety seminar.
As I have said before,numerous times ---YES--- The Fairways, sure has it's problems, in many areas--BUT-- We are blessed with some of the finest safety forces anywhere in the country.--- Our station 80 and 82 EMS folks and the folks at Sector 2 are the best!
